# 2. Task management

## What is a Task?

A Task is a unit that defines 'what to evaluate'; it represents the capability to be evaluated and consists of multiple Metrics and one Benchmark Set.

## Create Task&#x20;

You can create a Task, either by choosing from templates or by creating an empty Task.

`+New Task` Select it.

### 1. When adding with a template

If you select the desired template `Add Task` the button becomes enabled.

### 2. When adding a custom Task

`Custom Task` Select it.

`Task Name` and `Description`Enter the Task Name and Description to add it.

Go to Task Detail.

## Task Management

### 1. Task screen layout

A Task is largely composed of the following areas.

* **Task basic information area**\
  This is the area where you can view basic Task information such as the Task name, Description, and Task Group.
* **Schema Setting area**\
  This is the area where you can view and edit the Schema information owned by the Task.
* **Metric information area**\
  This is a concept associated with the Task. It displays the Metric information the Task has.
* **Benchmark Set area**\
  This is the area where you can view the Benchmark Set (= a collection of multiple datasets) used for Task evaluation.

### 2. Key information management

The Key information used in a Task is broadly divided into four types: Input, Output, Reference, and Metadata. Each Key type plays a different role in the evaluation execution, Metric configuration, and Eval Result generation process.

To edit the Input Key and Output Key `Go to Application Setting` click the button. `Go to Application Setting`Press it to move to the Application Setting screen and edit.

If you want to edit Reference or Metadata, each `Edit` click the button.

#### Edit Reference

`+Add Key`You can add a Key by clicking it.

`-` Clicking the button deletes the corresponding Key.

`Edit` Clicking the button lets you edit the Key name.

After finishing editing the Key name `Save` select the button.

While editing `Complete` the button is disabled.

When adding a Key value, you must enter at least one character for the Save button to become enabled.

Enter the Key name `Save` and then `Complete`select it to add a new Key.
